Extend sound creation beyond traditional synthesis, and transform samples into anything you can imagine. Intriguing and playful, FORM offers a refreshing approach to sound creation that delivers beautifully organic and powerful results.

Start creating something new – just drag and drop a sample into the FORM interface. Using a sample as the primary oscillator for the synth engine, FORM lets you craft complex new sounds rapidly. Scrub the sample to discover new worlds within its waveform, then select the section you want to manipulate.

Breathe life into samples and enhance the sense of realism by generating movement from even the most static starting points. Choose the direction and behaviour of sample playback, and set playback rates according to sample length, frequency, or BPM. For in-depth manipulation, carve up and modify the amplitude curve, applying presets or using the Curve Editor to redraw segments.

FORM Oscillator

Performance

TRK-01

Creative Kick and Bass

Low end forms the foundation of almost all electronic music, so getting great kick and bass from the start makes all the difference. TRK-01 marries classic mixing techniques with innovative sound design, sequencing, and modulation, so you’re always inspired to write solid and exciting kick-bass combinations. Get your new tracks rolling quicker and sounding bigger than ever before – start with TRK-01.

Kick

The Kick module is built for versatility, ease-of-use, and expressive fun, and relies on a powerful combination of two sound layers: sampled or synth-based. Each layer has drive and a multimode filter (ideal for blending the low end of an 808-style kick with the transient crack of an acoustic sample, for example). The combined kick is further shaped using effects, envelopes, and sequenced modulation, and can be tuned automatically to a master tune setting, avoiding bass frequency clashes.

Bass

The Bass module offers total expressive freedom with a choice of five synth engines, allowing anything from epic super saws to underground sine subs. An innovative Ducker module lets you quickly apply creative sidechain-style effects or surgical mix cuts to the level, EQ, FX sends, and insert effects parameters. Like the Kick module, Bass features a number of modulators, and all parameters can be controlled by the step sequencer.

Sequencer 

Independent step-sequencers for Kick and Bass each offer extensive sequencing and modulation controls – far more than traditional step-sequencers. Every step allows a number of controls, such as note-on, velocity, pitch, length (for bass), and gate. But the real fun starts with the step-modulation controls. Parameter Focus lets you draw in sequence modulation for any Kick or Bass parameter (filter sweeps, for example). Step Locks then allow any number of fixed parameter values for a given sequencer step: Simply click the Lock button for that step then draw in as many settings as you like – just for that step.

Effects

TRK-01 offers a range of tailored processing types and sound-shaping techniques, starting with a user-selectable insert effect for both Kick and Bass modules.

Delay and Reverb sends provide key controls in a simple interface, with additional features for huge creative potential. Both feature their own dedicated stereo output for external mixing.

Finally, two master inserts – a harmonic bass enhancer, followed by a saturation-capable compressor/limiter module – allow creative enhancement and performance-ready weight.

NKS/Komplete Kontrol

TRK-01 integrates seamlessly with Komplete Kontrol and Maschine for even more expressive sound-design and enhanced playability. The layout of key TRK-01 controls mirrors the hardware layout, with intelligent pre-mapping of additional controls. MOD PACK takes three classic modulation effects – chorus, flanger, and phaser – and adds never-before-seen features. Each offers spectacular new creative possibilities, plus stunningly convincing vintage-sounding results, making MOD PACK an essential upgrade from your conventional modulation effects.

Choral: Classic Choruses and More

CHORAL takes sonic inspiration from some of the most prized chorus effects of the last 40 years – including iconic rack-mount and synth-based ‘unison’ effects. Add width, movement, sheen, and shimmer to any signal, or take advantage of an all-new feedback mode, Scatter. It avoids the unpleasant metallic quality of heavy feedback settings in traditional designs, instead creating an entirely new reverb-like effect.

CHORAL has four sound modes, each with a distinct character.

• Universal offers a clean modern digital sound, while three are inspired by classic hardware choruses.
• Synth mode takes its sonic lead from a series of 80s synthesizers, famous for their lush ‘unison’ chorusing function.
• Ensemble mode is reminiscent of the BBD (bucket brigade device) chorus section of one of the most prized string synths of the late 70s.
• Dimension references the sound of a truly legendary early 80s rackmount chorus.

Chorus Control

The unifying factor of all the classics that inspired CHORAL is that they featured little, if any, customization options. On, Off, and Type, were typically the only controls. CHORAL, on the other hand, offers many custom parameters.

The number of chorus voices can be set progressively from one to three, the sync rate can be manually altered, as can the modulation rate, amount, mix, delay time, stereo width, and feedback (the latter offering an entirely new routing option, called Scatter).

Flair: A New Type Of Flanger

Flair turns the classic flanger on its head. Not satisfied simply recreating vintage analogue tape and pedal flanging effects – though it does both beautifully – Flair adds a revolutionary new Voices mode which uses multiple delay lines to create tuned harmonic flanging layers and resonances. It even features 24 chord settings, offering a variety of chords and note intervals.

Flair offers three modes.

• In Standard mode, each voice behaves like a normal flanger.
• In Thru Zero mode, each voice is duplicated at its respective pitch, but the duplicates are not modulated, so as the modulation increases, the flanging becomes even more apparent.
• In Scan mode, things get even more creative: Instead of stacking the voices into a chord, they play consecutively, a bit like an arpeggiator, with the order set by one of three waveforms.

Capable Classics

In addition to the revolutionary features on offer, FLAIR is capable of traditional lush tape and pedal-style flanging, offering all the parameters you would commonly expect, such as tempo-synced pitch modulation.

Sound-enhancing features include Detune for offsetting the pitch of the flanging, Feedback for thickening the flanging (complete with adjustable damping control to roll off high frequencies and soften the effect at high feedback values), and Width, for creating stereo flanging.

Phasis: Phasing Redefined

Phasis offers timeless phasing sounds – adding movement, soul, and creative magic to any signal. Phasis draws inspiration from classic phasers but adds powerful new features for never-heard-before results. For example, the Spread control changes the spacing of the phaser’s notches, for vocal-style effects. Ultra mode pushes modulation to ultra-high rates, producing unique FM-esque tones.

Though offering a lush, analogue-inspired sound, reminiscent of some of the finest rackmount and pedal-housed phaser effects, Phasis’ unique Spread control allows wah-wah and formant-style filtering effects, but with a highly distinct sonic flavour.

Spread adjusts the density of peaks and notches in the spectrum, and whether set to a single value, controlled live or with automation, or flipped with the Invert button, Spread provides a fresh take on both phasing and vowel-filtering.

Ultra Features

With up to 12 notches, a powerful stereo spread function, extensive tempo-sync options, and all the controls you would expect on a professional phaser, PHASIS is already a formidable modulation device, but ULTRA takes things to new territory.

Engaging ULTRA raises the maximum modulation speed from 8.37kHz up to an incredible 477.3kHz allowing some extraordinary FM-style effects that have never been heard before, capable of transforming even white noise into an exciting sound.

MASSIVE

The Heavyweight Synthesizer

The synth that defined bass music, this powerhouse synthesizer is an uncompromising sonic monster and the go-to choice for bass music and electro producers.

MASSIVE is a sonic monster – the ultimate synth for basses and leads. The virtual-analogue concept belies the contemporary, cutting-edge sound it generates. Clearly laid out and easy to use, MASSIVE gives you earth-shuddering sounds from the very first note.

MASSIVE gives your tracks a solid foundation with the creamiest, punchiest basses. Razor-sharp leads cut through the mix even with grit and dirt piled high. And an overwhelming array of wavetable oscillators, modulation options, and filters, and effects offer a sonic spectrum as broad as it is inspiring.

MASSIVE contains over 1300 sounds, all crafted by leading artists and sound designers. The efficient search and intuitive filter functions let you find presets according to specific characteristics and attributes – a particularly musical and intuitive approach.

Macro Controls

MASSIVE's macro controls offer fast, direct control - automatically mapped to the eight macro knobs on all Komplete Kontrol S-Series keyboards, and all Maschine hardware.

All of a sound's most important parameters are pre-configured and mapped to these controllers. A single controller can handle multiple assignments – for example, just twist 'Rhythm' and watch how multiple underlying parameters change simultaneously.

The macro controls enable you to customize any of MASSIVE's presets instantly and profoundly, without having to understand the technical structure of the sound. The macro controls essentially turn each sound into a set of possible sounds that seamlessly morph into one another.

Moreover, the macro controls are the most important interface to other applications. They are targets for MIDI assignments, which are easily set using the MIDI Learn function. They are also the first eight parameters that are reported to any host when MASSIVE is used as a plug-in.

Sound Synthesis

MASSIVE's sound synthesis is based on a unique Wave Scanning algorithm, implemented in three parallel oscillator modules. It combines the highest sonic quality with utmost flexibility and controllability. Think of a Wave Scanning oscillator as a multi-track sequencer; one of the tracks contains a saw wave and the other a pulse wave. In the vertical dimension, each of MASSIVE's oscillators allows these tracks to be faded seamlessly into one another. In the horizontal dimension, a single cycle's read-out speed curve can be manipulated in three different bending modes.

MASSIVE features an unlimited number of these "tracks" in each wavetable as well as two additional manipulation modes relevant for time and frequency settings. Of course, the “tracks” are not restricted to usual sawtooth or pulse waves.

MASSIVE comes with 85 specially designed wavetables, each one with a unique combination of waveforms and particular sonic characteristics. Finally, a modulation oscillator can be used to vary the main oscillators' signal. It can be used for ring modulation, phase modulation (which sounds similar to FM) as well as further modulation modes. A noise generator provides an additional signal source that can be mixed in with the other signals, generating particular effects. It can, for instance, be used in combination with MASSIVE's comb filters for a physical modelling approach to sound design.

Flexible Routing

MASSIVE's basic structure conforms to the well-known subtractive synthesis paradigm, making it easy to understand while simultaneously ensuring the signal flow is highly flexible. You can place two insert effects at various places within the signal flow. You can also take the signal at any point and route it back to the beginning. For example, you can filter a sound and feed it back into the filter's input. This can create very lively and dynamic results. The flexibility is further increased by placing an insert effect into the feedback path.

You can route any of the oscillator’s signals directly to the synthesizer's output, bypassing all filters and/or master effects. This feature allows a direct 'punch' to be added to layered, highly modulated sounds, for example, to add a sub-bass.

Modulation Sources

MASSIVE features several types of modulation sources that, thanks to the innovative user interface, can easily be assigned to any of its parameters. Multiple parameters can be assigned to a single macro control, bundling technical settings into a single control – a far more musical approach. For instance, you can assign both the filters' cutoff frequencies to one macro control and label it as "Brightness".

The envelopes in MASSIVE feature an advanced loop mode: a part of the envelope can be looped and you can morph between different transitions or crossfades for the defined loop start and end points. Various other options make MASSIVE's envelopes truly unique.

MASSIVE contains two step sequencer modes: While the Stepper conforms to the well-known, established operating modes, the Performer allows each step to be shaped individually, making it ideal for advanced rhythmic structures. A flexible low frequency oscillator completes the list of modulation sources. The variety of possibilities is as wide as it is fast to use. This is further enhanced by the inclusion of templates for standard tasks for all the modulation sources, such as envelopes, LFOs, steppers and performers. For example, setting an envelope to a generic ADSR shape is a quick, one-click issue.

Change The Framework

MASSIVE's various global settings pages allow a variety of parameters to be adjusted – parameters that most other synthesizers leave unmentioned and unadjustable. MASSIVE unveils their true sound design potential. The Keytracking pages map the incoming pitch information generated by your keyboard or sequencer individually for each oscillator and filter. There is even separate keytracking control over the filters' cut-off frequencies and other additional parameters such as a bandpass filter's width or a comb filter’s feedback. This allows effects to be created that can be controlled by simply playing your keyboard.

Like in most synthesizers, you can adjust glide times between pitches when you play legato notes. MASSIVE goes a step further, allowing the pitchbend range or the phase of each oscillator to be adjusted. The Voicing page allows switching between polyphonic and monophonic voice handling as well as several voice trigger options, for example playing musical-sounding trills easily with your keyboard.

Several voices can be triggered by a single note. Much like an orchestra where several violins play the same 'voice', making the sound warmer and more lively, the unisono feature makes your sound thick and vivid. This feature can also be adjusted to extreme settings, spreading your voices over several octaves or filling the stereo panorama – all with just one single note being played.

The Library

MASSIVE contains over 1300 production-ready sounds, including the full libraries from former products 'MASSIVE Expansion' 1 and 2, 'Urban Arsenal' 1 and 2, and 'MASSIVE Threat'. All have pre-defined macro controls and all have been crafted by professional sound designers and well-known artists. The spectrum of styles included is as wide and varied as music itself, bound to inspire you no matter what the flavour of the piece you're currently working on.

The Sound Generators 

ABSYNTH can use up to three independent oscillation modules in parallel. All parameters can be modulated in real-time for expressive, dynamic interaction.

The oscillator modules feature the following operation modes:

• Single and Double: Classic oscillators – use a single oscillator or two in parallel.
• FM: Combines two waveforms and uses them as carrier and modulator, respectively.
• Ringmod: Combines two waveforms in a ring modulation architecture.
• Fractalize: Folds a waveform into itself to create additional harmonics.
• Sync Granular: Re-synthesizes a waveform to generate breathy sounds.
• Sample: Uses a sample as a sound source. 22 sample categories including acoustic instruments, percussion, morphing textures, and vocal sounds.
• Granular: Re-synthesize a sample.
• Audio In: Integrates any signal sent to ABSYNTH into the signal flow and transforms the synthesizer into an effect unit.

Modules 

After the oscillators, various modules can be used to further sculpt your sound. 14 filter modes let you control the frequency spectrum. A ring modulator and frequency shifter allow advanced sound mangling. The Waveshape module changes the sound based on its amplitude for highly dynamic sound changes.

The order of these modules is freely definable. A versatile effect module is available at the end of the signal chain, completing the range of audio modulation modules. The ABSYNTH Universal Library allows you to save single modules or complete channels for future use.

Wave Editing

Custom waveforms can be used in any of the modules that use waveforms, from oscillators to LFOs to the waveshaper. A library of waveforms is also included – simply select a waveform and get straight to making music.

A dedicated window with two special views allows modification of a waveform’s time and frequency. Apply ring modulation, filters, or fractalize a waveform. Use the new Morph Waves to merge two simple waveforms into something entirely new. Both waveform components can be edited in real-time.

The Envelopes

ABSYNTH lets you assign an individual envelope to nearly all of the audio engine's parameters. Use steps within your envelopes for tempo-synced precision. The Expand to Rhythm command lets you easily create rhythmically looped sections within your envelopes. Use a preset envelope or customize them for the perfect sound.

Similar to the Macro Controls, ABSYNTH's Master Envelope allows envelopes to be controlled with just four knobs based on common Attack, Delay, Sustain, and Release controls. All the library’s sounds are pre-mapped to these knobs, for fast and easy customization.

Versatile Modulation

Nearly all of ABSYNTH's audio engine parameters can be modulated. Link them to a Macro Control for quick and easy modification. The new Audio Mods extend these possibilities by linking a parameter to a module’s audio output signal. Additionally, three LFOs can modulate a wide variety of parameters.

The Morph Waves can also be used as LFO waveforms. Change the LFO rate or depth, as well as the signal's shape in real-time. This goes way beyond the traditional use of LFOs.

Flexible Flow 

The Patch Window is ABSYNTH's control center. Here, you choose modules and define their order in the signal path. Place a filter after a waveshaper to smooth your distorted sound, combine a frequency shifter with a ring modulator, and so much more – ABSYNTH's freely definable routing multiplies the sound design possibilities exponentially.

The Macro Controls

All of a sound's most important parameters have been pre-configured and mapped onto Macro controls. For example, twist the Color knob and watch several parameters change simultaneously. The macro controls put several distinct sound variations on one knob, letting you instantly switch between sounds without extensive knob turning.

Effects and Surround

All effects offer an intuitive set of master controls. The surround module places effects within a surround panorama for enveloping effects.

The synthesizer's effect unit features the following operation modes:

• Pipe: Models a pipe or string for resonance effects.
• Multicomb: Features up to six parallel comb filters for stunning spatial effects.
• Multitap: Creates sophisticated echo effects with feedback.
• Echoes: Models three independent delay lines with separately adjustable filters and feedback.
• Resonators: Contains different modes that simulate various resonant bodies from halls to metal bars and more.

Each operation mode's most relevant parameters are assigned to a Macro Control for instant access. This makes the effects an integral part of the ABSYNTH sound.

The Mutator - Simple Sound Design

You don’t need deep knowledge of synthesizers or sound design to create your own professional sounds. The Mutator represents a fresh approach to sound design, allowing you to combine characteristics from several sounds from the factory library.

For example, you could take the characteristics of a distorted bass from the ABSYNTH Library and apply them to a soft pad. Simply use the Browser to find the musical attributes you need.

It's also easy to define which elements of the sound should be mutated. The Randomize fader provides additional variations. Compare your newly-generated sounds in the new Sound History window and then tag and save them with your desired attributes for future use.

In addition, the Mutator's eight fine tuning controls provide quick access to eight sound properties, such as brightness, bass, resonance, distortion, and effects for instant tweaking of your newly created sounds.

Aetherizer Effect

The Aetherizer is a sophisticated granular effect that ‘decomposes’ the sounds into the smallest sample slices (‘grains’). These slices are then manipulated and re-assembled in a variety of ways. The results are unusual chorus and vocoder sounds, grain clouds, delays, pitch shifts, reverbs, and strange reflections. You can even use the Aetherizer on audio signals to spice up your recordings.

Cloud Filter

The Cloud Filter has a similar structure as the Aetherizer's granular effect, but acts in each of the three oscillator channels. It provides granular-based results such as unusual Chorus, Pitch Shift and reverb effects, and can produce synth sounds that are dense and aggressive.

Supercomb Filter

This new comb filter uses physical-modelling with finely adjustable resonance for even more realistic, acoustic, and colossal sounds.

Frequency modulation is based on the interaction of operators. A minimum of two, known as the modulator and carrier, are always interconnected. The modulator signal modulates the carrier's frequency by a specific amount. The FM8's matrix allows you to quickly connect any two operators, as well as determine the modulation amounts for all connections. The matrix makes handling frequency modulation parameters simple. It also provides a concise overview of all FM connections, so you don’t have to go from page to page to collect all a sounds' parameter data.

Smooth Operators

Each operator has a detailed editing page where you can adjust all its parameters. Choose different waveforms, select different ways to adjust the operator’s frequency, control responsiveness to MIDI velocity messages, and set panning and amplitude. Several modulation sources or different MIDI values such as aftertouch or mod wheel can be used to modulate the amplitude. The amplitude is shaped by the multi-breakpoint envelope – add and delete breakpoints, set their levels and control their transitions. You can load a template or create your own shapes.

Access All Areas

The Operator Overview Page displays all the operators' most important parameters simultaneously. This offers a very fast and convenient way to set up the basic structure of a sound and customize existing ones. Each individual oscillator also has a dedicated page presenting all its parameters and providing you with the opportunity to fine-tune your sound.

Envelopes At A Glance

The Envelope Expert Page offers the same functionality as the Operator Overview Page. It allows operator envelopes to be viewed simultaneously. Edit one envelope while still being able to see the others at the same time. Edit several simultaneously by linking them in one or more groups. This allows envelopes to share the same structure and can be very useful, for example, to synchronize the amplitude progression of two operators. You can also create one basic shape for several envelopes, unlink them, and then modify each one separately. The page also gives you a graphical overview of all envelopes and thus the overall amplitude response of the complete sound.

Morphing Sounds

The Morph Square allows you to morph between four different sounds. Each corner represents one timbre. By moving the morph handle you gradually morph one timbre into the other. All of FM8’s presets have four timbres that were selected to deliver maximum expressive variety. Additionally, all movements can be automated via MIDI or a sequencer allowing you to morph the timbres remotely or according to a song’s structure. You can also randomize your sounds with the Morph Square, producing playful, experimental results.

The Arpeggiator 

The arpeggiator in FM8 is more than a step sequencer – it transforms your MIDI input into rhythmic lines and melodic patterns. Tie steps to each other and accentuate individual ones. Transpose notes in semitones or octaves. Re-order notes and choose different repeat modes. Or combine all options to achieve truly dynamic results. The arpeggiator is equipped with a list of master controls. Easily change the sequence's tempo and shuffle amount. Adjust note length and velocity. Split your keyboard to trigger arpeggiator patterns with one part of the keyboard while simultaneously playing chords or bass lines with the other. Use one of 48 templates for quickly setting up new and exciting sequences or create and save your own.

Sound Packs offer the simplicity of samples but add another level of flexibility and creative possibilities. You are never limited to the sounds on offer – you can always make them sound like you.

Sometimes a boom needs more whoosh. Because Sound packs are fully configured instrument and device patches in the Reason Rack, you get immediate and full creative flexibility. In other words – you can easily add as much whoosh as you like.

Europa - Shapeshifting Synthesizer

A wavetable synth at heart; Europa is the most powerful, most modern and biggest sounding synth for your next track and the many more to come. The heart of Europa is its three spectral wave engines, where waveforms are loaded and warped through traditional wavetable sweeps and spectral waveform modifiers. Add to that a set of unique spectral filters, customizable envelopes, fantastic effects and more and you’ll be ready to realize that Europa isn’t just the greatest synth to arrive in Reason. It’s the greatest synth to arrive. Period.

Thor - Polysonic Synthesizer

Where other synths use one specific form of synthesis and one single filter, the Thor polysonic synthesizer features six different oscillator types and four unique filters. What does this give you? An unstoppable monster of a sound generator, Thor utilises synthesizer technology from the last 50 years. With its unique selection of oscillator types and filter designs, the Thor Polysonic Synthesizer is a veritable synth museum. But there’s nothing dusty about this instrument. Thor may have one foot in history, but its sound is pure future.

Monotone - Bass Synthesizer

For all the bass heads out there, here’s Monotone: a monophonic supply of speaker rattling low-end. Monotone has a deep and big sound but is inviting and easy to work with. No hidden menus or cryptic controls. Everything you need is at your fingertips when you want it. Monotone is also the bass synth in Reason Compact for iOS. Start your basslines on Reason Compact and scale up your production on your Desktop – Monotone seamlessly integrates into your workflow.

Subtractor - Polyphonic Synthesizer

Similar in layout of the analogue flagship synths of the early 80s, the Subtractor makes it easy to create anything from warm pads to rumbling bass. A unique feature of the Subtractor Synthesizer is the oscillator phase offset. By using this feature you can create complex waveforms by subtracting or multiplying a waveform with a phase offset copy of itself. This analogue type polyphonic synthesizer is based on subtractive synthesis, the method used in classic, analogue synthesizers.

Kong - Drum Designer

Kong Drum Designer is not your regular drum module. It’s the drum module focused on giving you exactly that drum sound you’re after. Kong has 16 pads and 16 drums. Build your drum sounds based on any of the nine different drum modules. Flavour the sound with 11 support generators and effects. Program automation, create alternating groups and let Reason’s powerful sequencer drive the beat.

Radical Piano - Advanced Acoustic Piano

Radical Piano will change the way you use pianos in your music by allowing you to imagine a piano in a real space and set about creating it yourself through intuitive controls. Based on a custom blend between sampling technology and physical modelling algorithms, Radical Piano affords songwriters, producers, and sound designers an unprecedented level of control to craft a realistic piano that is 100% unique.

MIDI Out - Device

Play the sounds of your favourite hardware synths and beat machines within the Reason Rack. Sequence and automate your MIDI gear in Reason's sequencer, play in new ways with Players, or control any MIDI parameter with CV cables from any rack device.

When using Reason as a VST3/AU/AAX plugin, the MIDI Out Device communicates directly with the host. Build your own custom MIDI rack using Reason's devices and control any other plugin or external hardware in your DAW of choice.

Effects

Sweeper

Add more colour with this high quality, multi-talented modulation unit with expansive dynamic modulation options. Sweeper offers three separate stereo modulation effects: phaser, flanger and filter. The pristine-sounding phaser offers up to a whopping 40 stages for some extreme phasing sounds. The Flanger excels at the sweeping sounds you’d expect from it while the filter section is the oversampled filter from Europa with nine filter modes. To breathe life into the effect, Sweeper has a modulator with a looping envelope, an audio follower and audio trig to modulate just about any of Sweeper’s settings.

Master Bus Compressor

Reason’s trusted ready-for-radio bus compressor is now available as a rack device. The sound is identical to the Mixer’s master bus compressor, but the rack unit offers expanded CV control, dry/wet settings and the ability to apply the compressor magic anywhere in your signal chain. How would your drum mix sound with its own Master Bus Compressor?

The Echo

The Echo is an advanced stereo echo bringing together the brilliance of modern delays with the organic sounds of analogue circuitry and old-school tape machines. The Echo is equal parts pristine stereo delay, sound sculpturing toolbox, and playable performance effect. Add Delay, colour, modulations and triggers to your Rack. The Trigger and Roll modes let you play The Echo as an instrument, creating stutter and repeat effects on the fly.

Add scale awareness to your instruments with Scales & Chords. Select your key and scale from a list of common and not-so-common scales and your playing will always be in key. Turn on the chords button and have Reason add one finger chord magic that fits right with your music. With colours ranging from the very roots of the human race to downright obscure and experimental, the enigmatic Masala 2 heats up any music endeavour. MSoundFactory may well be the most powerful instrument out there. It's modular, so you can have any number of oscillators, filters, samplers etc. you want. It features per-voice and global modulation, full MPE support, the best sounding oscillators on the market, a fully modular effects engine... and Melda are just getting started...

MSoundFactory will most likely be a never-ending project. Melda are probably not going to make any further instruments, instead they are going to implement further modules and features into the mighty MSoundFactory. MSoundFactory currently comes with many presets converted from MPowerSynth and several fully-featured instruments, but it's far from being "ready". However, it can already be used by creative minds looking for an extremely powerful instrument. The only necessary module needed to be added to the first official release is a sampler, so please stay in tune.

Unique Visualisation Engine with Classic Meters and Time Graphs

• Your ears should always be the main tool, but they are not the only way to judge your audio. Visual aids can be incredibly useful for a variety of reasons. Melda's comprehensive metering system is extremely flexible and delivers you accurate information when you need it. From classic meters to time-based graphs, you will see important visual feedback including; Input, Output, Stereo width, Loudness, Waveforms, Bands, Gain reduction and Sidechain, and some plugin dependent meters.

Modulators

• MSoundFactory provides 8 fully-featured modulators which can control any set of parameters including other modulators. Each modulator works as an LFO, level follower, midi/audio triggered ADSR enveloper, randomizer or pitch detector, or even a combination and can listen to the plugin\'s side-chain.
• You can make the sound move in time, be less static and more interesting. You can make various parameters depend on the input (or the sidechain) level or even listen to the input pitch.

Adjustable Oscillator Shape Technology

• Every oscillator in MSoundFactory uses the most versatile oscillator algorithm on the market. It provides a mix of predefined oscillator shapes, custom waveforms edited using our MeldaProduction Envelope System (MES), a step-sequencer and several methods for algorithmic postprocessing.
• It also provides a harmonic mode, which lets you control the harmonic content instead of oscillator shape. This is especially useful for high-frequency oscillators.

Multiparameters

• MSoundFactory lets you control multiple parameters using a single so-called multiparameter. This may not only come handy for automation for example, but the multiparameters are very smart units and you can use them to smartly morph between banks of settings for example. All in the name of creativity!

Smart Randomization

Melda's state of the art randomization system gives you complete control. You can randomize parameters in 3 ways:

• Complete full randomization of everything.
• Subtle small random changes to your current state.
• Smart randomization.

Melda's smart randomization engine learns, using information based on existing presets to offer better values that will result in more successful changes. You can even lock certain parameters that you wish to be excluded from the randomization. This level of control can really help you out when you have a creative block and offer up fresh and inspiring ideas you may have never thought of.

Automatic Gain Compensation (AGC)

• Most plugins change loudness of the output audio, which makes browsing presets inconvenient, not mentioning randomization. MSoundFactory includes automatic gain compensation, which quickly adapts to current settings and ensures the output sounds as loud as the input. This even protects you from thinking that something sounds better in cases it is just louder.

Safety Limiter

• Some plugins can intensely increase gain when exposed to specific audio materials. MSoundFactory provides a safety brickwall limiter, which ensures the output stays below 0dB and prevents your equipment and your ears from potential danger automatically.

Sinc Interpolation

• MSoundFactory implements the most advanced interpolation technology to provide the best audio quality.

Adjustable Up-sampling 1x-16x

• Digital audio provides very superior audio quality compared to ancient analog gear, but there are problems too. The main problem is the aliasing, which may be noticeable, when using nonlinear processes such as compression or saturation. MSoundFactory includes both minimum-phase and high-quality linear-phase upsampling algorithms, which avoids the aliasing.

Synchronization to Host Tempo

• Every oscillator and modulator in the plugin can automatically synchronize to the host. But it can be out-of-sync if you want of course.

MIDI Controllers with MIDI Learn

• MSoundFactory contains a powerful MIDI processor, which listen to MIDI controllers and MIDI keyboard and control any parameters realtime.

64-bit Processing and an Unlimited Sampling Rate

The 127 presets of Plastic Pop muse back at arpeggio, bass, effects, lead, and pad sounds of the 80s. Reverence is an ode to modern and vintage analog synths. Sean's goal was to create sounds with the warmth, imperfections, and character associated with these instruments. An LFO (Low-Frequency Oscillator) is at the heart of every modulation effect — it’s what gives tremolos, phasers, panners and sweeping filters their characteristic motion.

Our included library of LFO shapes goes far beyond standard modulation effects, giving you curves based on vintage modulation effects, amps and instruments as well as more abstract shapes. You can also draw and sculpt your own totally customized shapes using our Shape Editor. Use it to dream up new LFO shapes, from knife-edged waves to gently ebbing curves.

Our Rhythm Editor is like a rhythmic modulation sequencer. Choose a length (in bars) and the size of the steps you want to edit (sixteenth notes, eighth notes, quarter notes, etc), then start clicking to make a new pattern. You can turn individual steps on and off to create pauses or rests, and adjust the level and length of each step to humanize your pattern and give it some musical variation. You can even choose the number of beats per bar to create some funky syncopation or odd-time-signature grooves. Like our custom shapes, custom patterns are even swappable between plug-ins.
